Entrecard Reserves 15% Network Inventory for Sponsors

The latest news out of the world of Entrecard is that they will start reserving 15% of network inventory and this has started another storm within the Entrecard world. Personally I don’t mind having sponsor ads on my website as long as I have the ability to approve the ads.
The value of Entrecard is the people that are using it. However, there are other programs that are picking up the slack, mainly CMFAds and Adgitize. I see a lot of overlap between these three systems. Hopefully the new Entrecard management can calm the crowd this time without much of the fire storm like last time. If not, there will be a lot more people moving other programs instead.

Luckily some members can get now rid of the sponsored ads by paying 50 $/year to be ad free…
In my opinion i won’t pay that amount as i always have the option to put the EC-widget on a lower place in my blog where it’s not that visible in case there would be offensive ads.
But like i wrote in my blog, it seems it’s not that tragic as EntreCard has yet no sponsors in queue who want to advertise, they just would promote their market and the forum…

Cornyman, I am not sure whether I want to pay $50 /yr either. My only concern would be too many people leaving. It is the quality of a community that makes the community special.
If lots of people start leaving Entrecard, then the value of Entrecard itself would decrease.
