Organic food has become popular in the past couple years even with its steep price in comparison to non organic produce.  However, with everyone strapping for cash these days, one of the ways to save money is to buy less organic food (that is if you are buying in the first place).

FoodNews.org has come up with a shopping guide that lists produces that contains a lot of pesticides vs those doesn’t.  The idea is you can cut your cost by simply purchase those “dirty” produce organic while shop in the usual manner for the “clean ones”.

The list surprised me as I expect strawberries to be #1 on worst list.  I have heard so many horror stories regarding strawberries.  On the other hand, I would expect apple to be clean since if you peel an apple, there shouldn’t be much pesticide left.  Either way, you can look over this list and do more research.  The less organic you buy, the fatter your wallet is.
